The air around the room was awkward. King Dane’s words hung in the air. The council that was still in the room seemed to be waiting for something to happen. I could tell from how dense the air in the room had become. Dane was waiting for me to answer his questions. I could see the emotions glittering in his eyes. He was indeed happy to see me. But I didn’t know how to answer the question.
I had missed him for so long. I had waited so long for this moment to see him. The moment to graze in his presence once more. I was tired of being alone. There was only one person who made my heart thump this way, and it was King Dane. I was happy to be home.
“I am doing well, Your Majesty. All thanks to you,” I finally replied.
King Dane smiled at me and gave me a nod. Then, he turned to the council who were watching us in silence and his smile disappeared. His brows barrows and his lips bent into a frown. He seemed agitated by their presence.
“Leave. All of you,” he ordered, his voice as cold
