Chapter 106
That man turned out to be Atlas. Hunter sneered, "Oh, I didn't expect your brother-in-law to be that rapist from five years ago."
Crystal's face lit up with joy.
Faith gave Atlas a look of disbelief, unable to wrap her head around her grandfather's approval of a man like him.
"Hunter, show some respect." Faith spoke up because her dislike for Hunter surpassed her wish to stay out of the mess.
Faith then secretly pinched Crystal as if blaming the latter for bringing her to Night Pulse.
Hunter, who was infatuated with Faith, approached her and fawned, "Faith, I'll listen to you and shut up about Atlas, but you need to sit further away from a crook like him!"
While speaking, he shot a hint at the friends around him, who got the cue and immediately left the private room in search of the men they hired to ambush Atlas.
Later, when Atlas eventually left the private room to use the restroom, the hired men would follow behind him and beat him into a pulp. Hunter didn't care if those men killed Atlas in the process.
To Hunter's surprise, Atlas didn't leave for the restroom after an hour. During that time, Faith too didn't take any alcohol.
Feeling restless, Hunter quietly shot Crystal a look. She quickly went over to Faith and asked, "Faith, why aren't you drinking? Don't you worry, I'll drop you home if you're drunk!"
With that, Crystal handed Faith a glass of alcohol. Atlas examined the glass intently and noticed that the drink was spiked.
He blurted out, "The drink is spiked."
Immediately, Hunter slammed his hand on the table and pointed a beer bottle in Atlas' direction. He bellowed, "What the fuck are you talking about? We're all old classmates. We would never spike Faith's drink!"
The other guys chimed in, "Crystal, your brother-in-law is sick in the mind!"
"Yeah. I'm not surprised that a sex offender like him sees every glass of alcohol as a spiked drink!"
Atlas flashed them a faint smile. As the Leader of Aerial Blade, he wouldn't take their childish behavior to heart.
To his shock, Faith insisted on downing the drink despite his warning. He didn't lie about the spiked drink, yet she finished it out of what seemed like spite.
After drinking the beer, she said to Crystal with flushed cheeks, "Crystal, let's go!"
Crystal was stunned by Faith's words, as Hunter's plan to beat up Atlas hadn't been carried out. "Seriously? Are we leaving now?"
Nodding, Faith said, "Yeah."
Atlas felt puzzled by Faith's animosity toward him. Even if he had a bad reputation in Newtropolis, that couldn't explain her hostility toward him as he had never wronged her.
For some reason, Faith seemed to be singling him out with great anger.
Hunter and the guys grew impatient when Faith wanted to leave. Hunter yelled, "Big Don, let's not wait. Come on in!"
Upon his orders, the door flung open, and ten men barged in with baseball bats in their hands.
A look of panic crept onto Crystal's face. She confronted Hunter, "Hunter, are you crazy? It's not easy to get Faith to meet you."
He snorted. "Glad you know, Crystal. That's why I need to take the golden opportunity, or I'll never have another chance when she goes back to her grandfather's."
Looking stunned, Crystal croaked, "Hunter, y-you're insane! You're fucking disgusting!"
He chuckled, "Speaking of disgusting, I'll never top that brother-in-law of yours. Haha!"
Crystal turned around and stared at Atlas. Oddly, she anticipated his help at this moment.
It was at that time Donald Harmon marched up to Faith with an excited expression. "Tsk tsk. Hunter, you have great taste! They're both gorgeous."
Then, he reached out to grab Faith's cheek. "You are especially pretty."
He said to Hunter, "Hunter, I'll consider her your gift to me!"
