THIRD PERSON’S POV Maya slowly regained consciousness. She felt a deep pain in her skull. Her muscles screamed in protest as she tried to move, but she was bound tightly to a chair. She could feel every bruise, every gash on her body. It took her a moment to gather her bearings, to process where she was.
