ELIZA’S POV
The moment we arrived at the camp, the air grew heavier. My heart pounded in my chest—not from nerves, but from the electricity in the air.
And then, I saw him.
Alexander stood near the center of the camp, speaking in hushed tones with the other marshals and generals.
Even in crowd of warriors, he commanded attention with an effortless authority that sent shivers down my spine. There was something attractive about the way he carried himself.
As if sensing my gaze, he turned.
My breath hitched. Those intense blue eyes locked onto mine.
In that moment, it felt as if we were the only two people in the world. I could feel my stomach getting heated up.
My throat went dry, and for one reckless second, I let myself drown in the intensity of his stare.
His expression was unreadable, but there was something there—something dark something that made my pulse race.
I looked away. Quickly.
Damn him.
I forced myself to focus as I walked towards the gathering warriors.
