It struck me as odd the moment I heard the twins had gone to Alistair’s.
Normally, my boys held on to me and Liam. They hated being away from us for too long. They were always close enough to interfere whenever Liam wrapped his arms around me.
I chuckled softly to myself, remembering just last week when they had barged into our room before dawn. Their little faces scrunched with disapproval.
“You’re hugging Papa too much!” Alex had complained, while Allen crossed his arms and added, “It’s gross.”
But now… they had agreed to spend the entire day away? With my father, no less? I know they loved and adored their grandparents but it was a bit unusual, and yet, when I thought about it, it made sense.
