Chapter 142 Either We Die Together, or We Live Together
Horatio's expression shifted at once. The urgent beeping echoed like a Grim Reaper's countdown, hammering at the two's chests.
Without hesitation, Horatio bent down and scooped Natalie, who lay slumped on the ground, into his arms.
"Either we die together, or we live together! Hold on!" Horatio's voice was low yet determined, channeling an unseen strength into her.
Pressed against him, Natalie could only breathe in the sharp, familiar scent of him. A surge of warmth filled her.
Horatio sprinted toward the wrecked car with her in his arms. Smoke was still curling from its crushed hood, but he didn't care. He shoved her into the passenger seat, buckled her in, and then vaulted behind the wheel.
"Hold tight, Natalie. Don't be afraid," he said with a grunt.
Horatio then slammed the ignition and floored the gas. The car lunged forward, straight toward the cliff's edge.
Natalie immediately understood what he was about to do. There was no way left other than forward.
