Chapter 515
The voting results were clear—Cyrus won with ease.
Chris was so upset he nearly cried. Jorsproburgh was proving to be such a tough nut to crack. They couldn't get rid of Cyrus despite their efforts. He couldn't determine if the four families were foolish or just incredibly bold.
How could a small place like Innerzen Medical Center compete with the mighty Sykes family of Centuria?
"Is the Jorsproburgh medical industry planning to rebel? You would've been in big trouble if our association hadn't sent a hundred thousand healers to Jorsproburgh!"
Cyrus came over and retrieved the Badge of the Hippocrates Sect. He asked, "Is the Sykes family going to ignore the Medical Directive from the young lord?"
Chris puffed up with pride. "Hmph, you ignorant brat! The Grand Doctor of the Hippocrates Sect is a close friend of our family. My grandfather, Owen Sykes, often visited him at the Hippocrates Sect. They'd drink together and talk about ancient medicine."
What Chris didn't realize was that the young director standing before him was the reincarnation of the young lord of the Hippocrates Sect. From now on, Cyrus intended to keep a close eye on the Sykes family.
Cyrus smiled. "If the young lord knew someone was using venom, do you think he'd step in to purge the scum from the medical industry?"
Evelyn grew nervous when she heard Cyrus talking about the venom. "Make yourself clear today. Show the evidence if you know who's using venom."
"If you're making false accusations, my grandfather will tell the young lord. With the Medical Directive, you'll be in deep trouble," Chris added.
He hoped it would scare Cyrus, even though he was bluffing. Even his grandfather couldn't get in touch with the young lord.
Cyrus refused to argue further. "Soon, you'll know what true medical justice and retribution look like," he said with a calm smile.
Evelyn cut in immediately, "Alright, let's not waste our time with this guy. Jordan, let's start the shareholders' meeting."
"Sure thing, Mrs. Sykes," Jordan replied. He then glanced at Jason, who smiled encouragingly at him.
Jason had been observing quietly from the side. He was trying to gauge if Cyrus could really compete with the Sykes family. Unexpectedly, Cyrus had dominated the situation completely.
If the Sykes family could do nothing about him, even as the richest man in Jorsproburgh, there was little Jason could do. Besides, he still owed Cyrus two lives.
Soon, they switched to the meeting room next door, where all the shareholders had logged into the conference call.
Jordan cleared his throat before speaking. "The topic for today's meeting is to brief everyone on the investment from the King of Medicine Group. With the support of a trillion-dollar pharmaceutical giant like them, I believe the crisis will pass soon—"
Margot knocked on the table to interrupt, "Mr. Hayes, I think you might have misunderstood. We're here today to elect a new chairman. We'll talk about the Sykes family's investment later."
Jordan was confused. "What are you talking about? I'm the chairman, and my term isn't over yet."
Nicole smiled and replied, "Mr. Hayes, according to the company's rules, if the chairman has committed a serious mistake, we can elect a new chairman at the shareholders' meeting."
"I'm the controlling shareholder, and the company belongs to the Hayes family. Who dares to remove me?" Jordan fumed.
"From today, you're no longer the major shareholder," Margot said with a smile.
Jordan replied angrily, "I'm in concert with Ferdinand, holding a total of 30 percent of the shares. If I'm not the major shareholder, then who is?"
Evelyn sensed something was wrong. Could Jason have betrayed them? She was so angry she almost had a heart attack. Jordan was indeed useless.
She immediately knocked on the table and said, "Jordan, such a major change requires the consent of all shareholders. Majority rules."
"I have Mr. Xenos—"
"Listen to me!" Evelyn yelled.
Jordan also realized something was off. He looked at Jason, who was still smiling encouragingly at him. Damn it, had he been deceived by this profiteer?
Otherwise, what did Margot mean when she said he was no longer the major shareholder?
