CAMILA'S POV
That morning, I would rather not get out of bed. Every breath felt like glass fragments piercing my lungs, and my entire body hurt. The pain that gnawed at my chest and the betrayal was worse than the pain on my skin. Rumours spread more quickly than wildfire. I had betrayed them, they said. The traitor was me, Camila.
The ground was covered in debris and blood from the explosion, the blood of those I referred to as allies. The whispers swept over me like waves, drowning me in uncertainty and fear.
Just behind me, someone said, "Camila is working with the DEA." The words drifted to me like poison on the wind.

I made an effort to control my breathing. I hardly felt it as my hand moved to my side, where a deep cut throbbed. My thoughts were racing. Who initiated this? Why would someone say that about me?
