Mayra lost count of how many calls he had made, but she didn't want to pick up.
She didn't have an appetite, so she told Helen not to make dinner before heading upstairs, ignoring the sounds behind her.
At 9:30 pm, Helen stood outside the door and was on the phone. "Yes, Mr. Anderson. Ms. Sadler had already taken her medicine, but she didn't have her dinner. She said she didn't have an appetite.
"When I carried the food upstairs, I heard her fighting with someone over the phone, and she seemed really mad. I think I even heard her crying. No matter how hard I knocked on the door, she wouldn't open it. Now, the lights in her room are off, and I think she's asleep."
"Alright," Anderson said and hung up. He then headed back to the dining hall from the balcony.
Harley pointed at a dish on the table. "Mom, I want that."
