"Riley helped?" I asked.
"He's upstairs with Ollie making sure nobody else tries to hurt anyone," Lake explained. "We have a system."
Of course they did. Because apparently five--year--olds in this pack had tactical coordination systems.
"Where are your parents?" I asked.
"Dad and Mom went to the cabin," Lake said. "The one in Uncle Zade's territory. For alone time. Grandma said not to bother them unless it was really important."
I closed my eyes briefly, feeling a headache building. Xenois and Lumina had finally taken a break, finally disconnected for some much--needed private time, and I was going to have to interrupt them because we'd just been attacked in our own pack house.
