[Violet’s POV] I had no idea what came over me. One moment I was safe and secure in Lucian’s arms and the next I was crossing the room to punch Kane Venmer straight in the face. Everyone watched in total awe and shock as I practically knocked the older man to the ground. But I didn’t care. I was fed up. I was enraged. “Don’t you ever call my mate a freak, you traitorous leech!” I snarled. The sound that tore from my chest was completely inhuman. It was enough to shock even myself. My heart rate was climbing and a sudden wave of dizziness came crashing over me. I pressed my hand to my head and felt myself swaying back. Lucian was quick to stand behind me to offer a wall of support. Dmitrius came close to my side. Ever so gently, I felt the slight brush of his hand against my chin. “Lucian, look.” Both men came to face me. “Her eyes.” Lucian’s expression filled with wonderment. He cupped my cheek as the corners of his mouth curved with growing appreciation. “Wha
