DOMINIC’S POV
I stood outside her door for what felt like forever, my forehead resting lightly against the wood.
I could sense her lingering presence inside—pacing, hesitating, breathing me in just as I breathed her in.
Come on, Liv, I thought desperately. Just say it. Call me back. Give me a sign.
My wolf whined inside me, ears pinned back, hopeful.
But after a long minute with no sound, I shook my head grimly.
I'm pushing my luck, she is far too gone.
Just as I was about to turn away, her soft voice floated through the door.
"Come in... we need to talk."
I froze, my heart slamming against my ribs, before reaching for the handle.
The door creaked open, revealing Olivia standing there in the middle of the room, arms crossed protectively across her chest, fire flashing in her eyes despite the pink blush that dusted her cheeks.
"Liv..." I breathed, stepping inside cautiously.
The scent in the room had shifted—sweet, heady, intoxicating.
