AURELIA’S POV
The border stretched before me like a living wound — the line that separated loyalty from betrayal, life from ruin.
Torches burned in the mist, throwing wild shadows across the clearing, and between those shadows stood three monsters I once called protectors.
Draven.
My father.
And Derek.
Their auras clashed like storms colliding, the air humming with so much power that even the trees seemed to hold their breath.
I should have stayed behind like Derek ordered. I should have listened. But every instinct in me screamed that this — this was the moment everything would end.
And if it had to end, then it would end on my terms.
Before I realized what I was doing, I stepped into the clearing.
Gasps echoed around me.
