Her eyes narrowed the moment she stepped into the clearing, tension radiating off her in waves. Her wolf was already clawing at the surface, I could feel the electricity in the air as her instincts sharpened—too late, of course.
“I knew it,” she said coldly, scanning the shadows behind me, her stance alert. “It can only be you. So predictable.”
