OLIVIA’S POV
Darkness.
It pressed down on me like a weight I couldn’t lift. My wrists ached, bound in heavy metal cuffs as I dangled from chains fixed to the damp stone ceiling. My feet barely touched the cold floor, my body swaying slightly every time I breathed too hard or whimpered in pain.
The scent was all too familiar—blood, mold, and rot.
I knew this place.
No, no, not again…
Panic clawed its way up my throat as I opened my eyes wider and the room came into focus. Cracked walls, flickering overhead light, rusted drain in the center of the floor—exactly like the last time.
Exactly like the house I was taken to when I was pregnant with the twins.
My heart thundered as realization dawned.
I was back.
But this time… my stomach was flat. There was no gentle swell of life inside me. I wasn’t pregnant. And that made it worse somehow—because it meant they had taken me again. They had done it once, and I had survived. But now, I wasn’t sure I could.
