OLIVIA’S POV
The warmth of Dominic’s fingers still lingered on my skin as we stepped out of the guest room together, dressed and ready to return to the heart of the banquet. The silence between us wasn’t awkward—it was charged. There were words still unsaid, emotions still too raw. But for now, we walked side by side, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I didn't feel like I was walking into battle alone.
Still, the moment we approached the grand ballroom again, reality set in. Eyes shifted toward us—curious, calculating, judging. The lights were too bright, the stares too many. But what struck me most was the way Derek's eyes met mine from across the room. He had been waiting. For me.
I felt Dominic stiffen beside me. His hand brushed mine again, almost instinctively, like he didn’t want to let go. But I pulled away gently.
