Chapter 160
Within minutes, though it felt like hours, she heard distant sirens. Noah climbed out of the car, her knees weak, and waved her arms desperately.
“Here! Over here!” she shouted, her voice breaking in panic.
The flashing red and blue lights grew closer until the ambulance pulled up beside the damaged car. Two paramedics rushed toward her.
“She hit her head,” Noah said breathlessly, stepping aside so they could reach Lily. “She was unconscious when I checked. She’s still breathing but weak.”
“It’s okay, miss, we’ll take care of her,” one of the medics assured her. They gently opened Lily’s door, unbuckled the seatbelt, and began checking her vitals.
As they worked, a police car pulled up too. The officers stepped out quickly, taking in the sight of the crashed vehicle. One of them approached Noah.
“Are you okay, miss?” he asked.
“I’m fine,” she said in a shaky voice. “But my friend… she’s not waking up. Those cars were following us since morning and then...” her voice broke, tears fillin
