Chapter 1471
Solomon worked late into the night before returning to the hotel.
His assistant informed him that Arthur's flight to Monafett would arrive at ten in the evening the next day.
Once Arthur arrived, their plan would officially begin its implementation.
Despite feeling exhausted, Solomon could not sleep after showering and lying in bed.
Considering the time difference, it was morning in Richworth. So, Solomon decided to video-call Ines on his phone, wanting to see her and hear her voice.
However, his calls went unanswered, not once but twice.
Solomon frowned. It was unusual for Ines to sleep in on weekends.
Was she working overtime?
He checked their chat history. Ines had not replied to his last message, either.
What was going on?
After some thought, Solomon smiled mischievously, opened a delivery app, and ordered a bouquet.
…
The following day, before dawn, Solomon's phone rang.
He answered impatiently, "Hello, who is this?"
"Good morning, sir. I'm from Happy Flower Shop. The flowers you ordered have been delivered, but there was no response at the door."
Furrowing his brow, Solomon checked the time. It was seven in the evening at Richworth.
Ines should have been home. Why was she not answering the door?
The caller continued, "I heard from the neighbors that it seems like no one lives in this house."
"No one lives there?" Solomon's brow furrowed even more.
"Are you sure the address is correct?"
"Of course!" Solomon snapped.
His address could not be wrong, and he had not changed it in the delivery app, either.
"What should we do with the flowers?"
"I'll give you a new address. Deliver them there."
Solomon provided Ines's company address.
Since the TV station would be closed at this hour, the flower shop agreed to deliver them in the morning.
With no sleepiness left, Solomon dialed Ines's number again, but there was still no answer.
Could something be wrong?
The thought made Solomon sit up straight, his heart beating faster.
He immediately called Tracey, asking her to check on Ines at their apartment.
…
In Richworth.
Tracey was seeing Arthur off at the airport.
He would be leaving for almost half a month for a dangerous mission this time. Tracey could not bear to see him go and kept reminding him to stay safe at the airport.
Arthur held Tracey, rubbing her head. "Don't worry, I promise to protect myself. I won't let myself get hurt."
Shorter than him by a shoulder, Tracey looked up at him, her expression full of reluctance. "Your promises don't work. You said the same thing last time and still got injured."
Arthur replied, "It was just a minor injury."
Tracey's face was filled with concern. "Minor? You were bleeding!"
Arthur knew she was worried about him. Unable to resist, he held her tightly and whispered, "I promise that this time, I won't get hurt. To put your mind at ease, I'll take good care of myself."
The others nearby could not help but smile wryly and look away.
When the boss used to train them, he would yell until he was hoarse.
However, when it came to Miss Fowler, why did he sound softer than a marshmallow?
