Chapter 1456
Before she could finish, Solomon interrupted her. "Next time, I'm busy today."
Queenie's smile froze momentarily, but she did not insist and nodded. "Alright then."
She escorted Solomon to the door and watched him get into his car. "Goodbye, Mr. Rowland."
Solomon waved his hand without saying anything.
Watching the car speed away, she decided to sit in the passenger seat beside Solomon one day.
Back in the office, hearing colleagues gossip about seeing Solomon today, Queenie asked, "Was Solomon here to see Director Shawn today?"
A colleague said, "No, he should have been here to see the editor, Ms. Matthams. I saw him heading straight to her office."
Queenie frowned.
"Ms. Matthams is in charge of several programs with the highest ratings on the station, all sponsored by Rowland Corporation. Solomon's visit should be about discussing cooperation for the next quarter."
"That makes sense. Ines is handling all the cooperation with Rowland Corporation."
Listening to her colleagues, Queenie felt a bit worried. Could Mr. Rowland be interested in Ines?
Queenie considered herself superior to Ines regarding her looks, charm, and figure. However, Mr. Rowland was known for his flirtatious nature. He never turned away from a beautiful woman and always had women around him. If Ines were to pursue him, Solomon would likely be with her.
It seemed she needed to find opportunities to show up more in front of Mr. Rowland.
Solomon drove back to the Rowland Residence. His parents were having a meal.
Seeing him return, Solomon's mother, Patricia Lavend, lit up. "Solomon's back. Did you eat? Come and sit down quickly."
However, Solomon's father, Udonis Rowland, wore a cold expression and grunted. "I thought you'd forgotten which way home is."
Patricia glared at Udonis. "What are you saying? Solomon's been busy!"
Solomon sat at the table, and the servant immediately set his plate.
"I've been coming back whenever I have the time to see you guys."
Solomon personally served his mother a bowl of soup and then his father, who still wore a stony face. He smiled. "I've been busy lately, but I'll be able to rest for a while once this period is over."
Solomon was the only child of the Rowlands, and his parents usually indulged him.
Mainly because they could not control him.
Fortunately, he had a sense of proportion and managed the company well, so they did not have to worry about him.
His father looked at him and said, "They said you haven't been to the company in the past few days. What have you been busy with?"
Solomon served his mother some vegetables. "You still worry about the company even with Owen around? I've had other things to take care of lately."
Udonis glanced at him but did not say anything.
"That's enough; let’s not talk about work during meals."
Patricia looked at her son, serving him food while saying, "You rarely come back. Eat more. If I had known you were coming back for lunch, I would have asked the kitchen to prepare more dishes you like. I'll make you soup tonight. You seem to have lost weight recently."
Solomon said as he ate, "It's okay, Mom. I have a flight to Monafett at ten tonight and will probably return in about half a month."
Udonis frowned but did not say anything.
"Another business trip? And for such a long time." Patricia looked worriedly at him.
Solomon smiled. "It's just a small matter. Don't worry; everything will be fine."
Patricia said, "Then have dinner before you leave tonight. You have time for 10:00 P.M. flight."
Solomon said, "I won't have dinner tonight. I have an appointment."
Patricia was a little angry. "What appointment could be more important than your parents!"
Solomon smirked. "What if I say it's your future daughter-in-law?"
