Chapter 27 Vivian's Morning Sickness
Curtis Huxley's perception of Vivian Donovan shifted as he observed her reaction, holding takeout in hand. In that moment, he recognized her sense of injustice and inner strength, seeing a reflection of himself in her. They were remarkably similar.
"Alright, Little Vivi, let's head inside," Curtis said, disliking Lilith Whitehead's feigned concern. He took Vivian's hand, pulling her close and wrapping an arm around her shoulder, shocking both Lilith and Bernard Jacobson.
"What?" Lilith gasped, covering her mouth. "Vivian, how do you know Mr. Huxley? He..."
Her words trailed off, but the implication was clear: Curtis was Westmoor's notorious playboy, the spoiled heir. Yet, given the occasion, she held her tongue.
"Lilith, since Ms. Donovan is your friend, you should advise her to avoid unreliable people," Bernard said, his gaze fixed on Vivian.
"Bernard, maybe Vivian and Mr. Huxley are just friends," Lilith attempted to mediate.
"Right, friends—my girlfriend!" Curtis declared, sensing B
