Lilian was infuriated. She brandished her fists, exclaiming, "You're the barbarian! Your whole family is a bunch of barbarians. No matter what, His Holiness would never fancy you!"
"Would he fancy you then?" Mary retorted, showing no sign of weakness.
Their gazes locked like fierce roosters about to erupt into a battle unique to women at any moment.
At that moment, Wilbur walked out, furrowing his brows. "What's going on?"
"Nothing. I just had a chat with Lilian," Mary replied, lowering her head meekly.
Seeing Mary's demeanor, Lilian felt an itching hatred but merely stated, "Your Holiness, I've come to bring you some fruits."
Lilian produced an apple and presented it to Wilbur.
Wilbur chuckled, taking the apple. "Alright, both of you, go get some rest."
Lilian and Mary exchanged a disdainful glance before parting ways.
Wilbur shook his head helplessly, returning to his room. While nibbling on the apple, he stared out of the window, lost in thought.
