VALENTINA
The SUV rumbled steadily beneath me, tires consuming the frost-lined highway that cut through dense, ancient forest we had entered.
Two armored vehicles flanked us, each bearing the Ebonn Moon crest in matte crimson and black. The guards inside were trained for close combat, guns holstered, eyes constantly scanning the tree line.
However, even among all these people, I felt empty and alone. They are here only because of Papa's order; they do not bear much sympathy for me.
Birds whisper among the pack of Papa's favouritism toward me to become his heiress.
Rey had wished to come, but Papa refused.
“Too dangerous,” he said solemnly. “And this is something Valentina must face alone as the future heiress of the pack.”
