“Let’s head inside, Mommy,” urged Melanie. Her voice brought Tamara back to reality. Tamara lowered her gaze and observed Melanie’s excited grin. She recalled Thomas’ words from earlier this morning. He had told her to put on a skirt. Looking at the scene before her, Tamara would be a fool not to realize where this was going. Tamara’s heart started racing, and she swelled with emotions. Her breathing quickened. Tamara held Melanie’s hand and made it past the crowd. They entered the amusement park together. The long pathway was covered with roses. It contrasted nicely against the gray walkway and gave off a romantic feeling. Tamara continued forward. A huge fountain greeted her, and beside it were two flower arches. One was made up of white lilies, while the other was made up of red roses. The white and red contrasted beautifully against each other. Tamara covered her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes. “Mommy, do you like lilies or roses more?” asked Melanie. Tamara leaned
