Chapter 230

Scarlett The three warriors shifted back into their humanoid forms as they approached me, their expressions sharp and alert. “Luna,” one of them whispered, “there are three wolves guarding ahead. We scouted first. If they sense us, we’ll draw them away so you won’t be caught immediately.” Before I could respond, Claude spoke calmly. “You don’t have to.” All three warriors looked at him. Even I, gaze at him, waiting for him to speak. “Those three?” he continued, voice steady. “I know them. They're probably gambling again with decks and drinking liquor even in daylight. They won't be paying attention to their surroundings once they were engrossed to their games.” He crouched slightly, observing the direction of the wind. “If we minimize our scent and don’t speak, they won’t notice.” The warriors exchanged glances before breathing a sigh of relief, thinking that we had to fight our way to sneak to their basement where they hid the other warriors and of course, the Alpha. I nodded my head.
