Scarlett's POV
As soon as we arrived back at the Nightshade, the two warriors on night duty at the entrance stood up and greeted us.
"Alpha. Luna."
I nodded at their greeting and thanked them for their hard work before we went inside. We finally made it back after stealing—freeing—Alexander's captive. Nick and Arnold had just managed to catch up after Lucien had assigned them to some important tasks.
"How was it?" I asked Arnold.
His dimples appeared; his eyes sparkled with delight, and he gave me a thumbs up. "It was a job well done. No one noticed us. I never imagined that the Crescent Moon Pack would be so easy to infiltrate. If we really wanted to bomb them all, they wouldn't even know who planted the bomb in the first place. They're too complacent."
Nick also spoke. "Their Alpha was too complacent, too."
Arnold chuckled. "He wasn't acting like an Alpha—he was too dependent on his late Luna, who managed the pack for him. It also seems that he doesn't even know the shortcuts and hid
