Chapter 93: Hearts in Harmony

Taylor could feel her heart beating faster as she found herself standing in the middle of Alex and Jordan, two people whom she had allowed to capture some part of her. The feeling was unbearable, and she could hardly bear the pressure that was building up within her chest. The night looked at them expectantly, as if it knew she was just getting warmed up. Alex, who was still holding Taylor’s hand, looked at her with both hope and fear. "Taylor, however you make your decision, you should know that I love you; I have always loved you and I always will.” She tried to sound strong, but her voice cracked at the end of the sentence. Jordan, for her part, was standing a few steps away, watching me with big, round eyes, begging me to stop. “Taylor, I want you to remember that I was an idiot and I hurt you before, but I’ve grown up; I see what I see, and I want to fight for you and for us, if you’ll let me.” Taylor’s mind was split in two as she felt torn between the two men that she loved dearly, and she was so confused with what to do. Recollections of the moments she spent with Jordan filled her mind—happy moments, intimate moments, moments when she was in love with Jordan. But then she thought of Alex, the person who comforted her, the person she felt attracted to, the person that she knew would treat her like a queen. He sighed heavily, trying to compose herself. “You never expected this?” Taylor asked quietly, staring at the floor. “You two are very important to me, and it is not easy for me to say this.”. Jordan moved uncomfortably a step closer to her. “Taylor, I made a mistake, and I wasn’t ready for you before, but now I am ready, Taylor, and I want you to give me another shot to show you that I can be the person that you need.” The honesty in their tone moved Taylor to the very core of her being. She desired so much to have two people inside her and be able to give her heart to both of them, but she cannot do that. They needed her; she had to make a decision that would shape her and their lives to come. While the two were sitting in silence, Taylor felt the first real peace in her heart; it seems that it has made a decision for her. It was then that she looked at Jordan and said, You know I am so sorry for everything. "Jordan, you were my first, and I will always be grateful for all the moments that we shared, but both of us have grown and developed, and what we were is no longer real. I am sorry, but I can’t go back to that.” Jordan sighed, and the sadness in her eyes made Taylor realize that she had hurt her friend. However, Jordan just nodded his head, agreeing to what Taylor had to say, and accepted his decision. “Okay,” I replied. ‘I understand,’ she said in a low tone. “I just wanted you to know how I feel. I wish you all the happiness in the world, Taylor.” With that said, Jordan walked off, leaving Taylor and Alex alone in the middle of the night. Taylor just observed her go, and the feeling of an end was coming filled her. It was a sweet yet bitter moment, but she was aware of the fact that she had made a correct decision. Looking back to Alex, Taylor was filled with affection and happy feelings. “Alex, I pick you. For some reason, I always felt comfort with you. I don’t want to lose it.” Alex burst out laughing, and her eyes filled with pure joy and happiness, and she hugged Taylor. “I will never take that for granted, Taylor; you are so special to me.” As they pulled apart, Taylor looked into Alex’s eyes, her heart swelling with love. “I’m ready for whatever comes next, as long as it’s with you.” Alex smiled, brushing a stray strand of hair from Taylor’s face. “We’ll take it one step at a time, together.” The night around them seemed to glow with a new kind of magic, the stars above twinkling as if celebrating their newfound love. The air was cool, but the warmth between them was all they needed. Suddenly, Alex’s phone buzzed in her pocket, breaking the serene moment. She glanced at it, her brow furrowing slightly. “It’s from my sister. She never texts this late.” Taylor’s curiosity piqued as Alex read the message. “What is it?” she asked. Alex’s face turned serious as she looked up. “She’s asking if I’ve seen her," Jordan sa. Apparently, she’s been going through some tough times and has been acting strange lately. She’s worried.” Taylor felt a chill run down her spine. “Jordan mentioned she had changed, but I didn’t think...” “We should find her; make sure she’s okay,” Alex said, already moving to grab her coat. Taylor nodded, her heart racing. “Let’s go.” They hurried through the streets, their earlier joy replaced by a growing concern. The city lights blurred around them as they searched for any sign of Jordan. Taylor’s mind raced, filled with worry for someone who had once meant so much to her. Finally, they spotted Jordan sitting alone on a bench in a quiet park, her shoulders slumped in defeat. She looked up as they approached, her eyes red-rimmed and filled with unshed tears. “Jordan,” Taylor called out gently, moving to sit beside her. “Are you okay?” Jordan tried to smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “I’ll be fine, Taylor. I just needed some time to process everything. I’m sorry if I worried you.” Alex stood nearby, giving them space but ready to step in if needed. Taylor took Jordan’s hand, squeezing it gently. “You don’t have to go through this alone. We’re here for you.” Jordan looked at both of them, gratitude shining in her eyes. “Thank you. That means more to me than you know.” As the three of them sat there in the quiet park, Taylor felt a sense of closure. She knew she had made the right choice, but more importantly, she knew that they would all be okay in the end. The future was uncertain, but with Alex by her side, she was ready to face whatever came next.
