Leviathan's nonchalant demeanor ignited a spark of anger within me. Her casual dismissal of the chaos and suffering she had sown was infuriating.
“Don’t try to play innocent,” I challenged her. “Are you saying you didn’t give the werewolves the power to teleport? That you had no hand in contaminating the concentrate?”
Leviathan’s lips curled into a smirk. “It’s all a fair exchange,” she replied, her tone dripping with condescension. “They offer sacrifices, and I grant them rewards. Isn’t that how it works when your kind offers sacrifices to the moon? As for how it’s done, I’m not one to bother with the specifics.”
