Chapter 307: Self-Inflicted Demise
**Thelma Zane’s POV**
I wiped my hand with deliberate care, the same hand that had briefly touched Benard, and flung the handkerchief onto the floor in disdain. My voice was icy and devoid of emotion as I addressed him. “A creature as vile as you dares to call itself a leader, an Alpha of a pack? Heaven must truly be blind to have granted you such a position.”
Benard’s misery was palpable, but it brought me no remorse—only satisfaction.
This was the same man who once towered over me like an unscalable mountain, arrogant and untouchable. Now, he lay before me, broken and insignificant, no more than a fallen leaf crushed underfoot. The sight of his collapse swept away the anger that had simmered in my chest for years.
I turned away from the pitiful heap on the ground and rejoined my adoptive parents. Gently taking their hands, I offered them silent comfort, urging them to stay calm. This wasn’t the time for their intervention.
