Meeting Elijah's dark gaze, Callie shuddered unexpectedly.
She shook her head instinctively, forcing a guilty smile. "You saw wrong. There's no one here."
"Is that so?" Elijah's voice was ice-cold. Clearly, he didn't buy her weak excuse.
Seeing him standing there, staring her down, Callie took his arm and led him to the couch.
But the moment she sat down next to him, Elijah abruptly grabbed her arm and created some distance between them.
"Elijah…" Callie's eyes reddened instantly.
He acted like her touch was poisonous.
She looked at him, tearfully accusing, "Elijah, don't you think you're being too harsh?"
"Am I?" Elijah asked, sounding completely indifferent.
Sensing his coldness, Callie lowered her lashes to hide her emotions. She knew that if it were Giselle instead, he certainly wouldn't have treated her like this. At the very least, he wouldn't have been this cold.
"You—"
"Do you know Bianca Moore?" Elijah asked, cutting her off.
