Chapter 217 We Are Family
In the dimly lit room, suddenly hearing someone speak without warning was a bit startling.
"You're not asleep yet?"
"I just fell asleep, and then you came in and woke me up, but it's okay, I'll fall asleep again soon."
Luun didn't say anything. He just sidled up behind Charlotte and hugged her.
He really liked this feeling of authenticity. Sometimes he also felt that the relationship between the two of them was quite strange.
After all, they had no previous interaction, and then they suddenly met and learned about those things, and naturally came together.
And this special feeling was something no other woman had ever made Luun experience.
In the morning, Luun served breakfast to her just like at home.
After rubbing her sleepy eyes, Charlotte remembered what had happened at home yesterday afternoon.
To prevent certain people from causing trouble again at the company, it was better to inform him first.
Charlotte spoke up, "Yesterday afternoon, Jacqueline came to the house."
Luun's voice suddenly became serious, "What did she come for? She hasn't harmed you, has she?"
Charlotte shook her head, "No, but I think she's a bit strange. She always thinks I'm doing something behind her back, so she terminated the cooperation with their family. She even kowtowed to me in front of our mother. That's what I can't stand."
After hearing Charlotte's description, Luun's eyes showed an incredulous expression.
In his impression, Jacqueline had always been a very dignified lady, so such behavior was somewhat surprising.
Charlotte pursed her lips and continued, "Shouldn't we just stop this to prevent Auntie from coming to our house for no reason?"
Although Luun nodded, he just said indifferently, "If she comes again next time, just tell them it has nothing to do with you, it's all my decision."
Charlotte couldn't help but say, "But even if we say that, others will still think it's me. After all, we're husband and wife, and what you do is no different from what I do."
Luun squinted, wondering what this woman was trying to imply by saying this.
Charlotte said tactfully, "If you're not so angry about it, then..."
Luun frowned after being silent for a while.
Sanira hadn't come to the company anymore, but unexpectedly, they had found another way to cause trouble at home.
It was really troublesome to completely solve this.
Charlotte casually asked, "Is Sanira still coming to see you?"
Luun disdainfully said, "Since I terminated the cooperation with their family, Sanira hasn't come again, but I didn't expect them to come directly to the house to find you."
Charlotte's eyes dimmed, and she took a deep breath, "I didn't expect it either, but when she came, Sofia and I had just gone out. When we came back, we just happened to see her chatting with our mother. Even if I didn't deliberately eavesdrop, I knew what they were talking about. If I had known, I should have avoided it in the first place."
Luun pursed his lips, "Then if Jacqueline comes again next time, just hand it over to our mother to handle."
Charlotte was still worried that Jacqueline might do something excessive. She couldn't help but say, "Is it really okay like this? I'm still worried. What if this woman really goes crazy..."
Luun interrupted her, "Don't worry, even if Jacqueline does something extreme, it's just for her own business. She understands your mother's status and won't dare to do anything. It's you who need to stay away from them."
Charlotte looked up at him seriously, "I'll remember what you said. If she comes to the house again next time, I'll definitely stay away."
"That's good. Let's not talk about this anymore. Hurry up and eat something. Otherwise, it will all get cold." Luun said.
Charlotte smiled at the breakfast Luun brought over. Although it was all things he usually liked to eat, she didn't have much appetite at the moment.
In order not to disappoint Luun, Charlotte reluctantly ate some.
Luun had been taking care of her these days, so he couldn't help but worry when he saw her not eating much. "Are you feeling unwell?"
Charlotte hesitated before slowly saying, "Why do you ask?"
Luun looked at her, "With two slices of bread from the King of Medicine, you can eat them, but today you only ate half?"
Charlotte looked at Luun guiltily. He didn't have much of an appetite today, maybe because he had just woken up.
"Because I'm a bit sleepy right now, so I don't want to eat so much."
Luun felt relieved when he heard her say there was nothing wrong with her body, and a smile of relief appeared on his face.
As Luun picked up his tie, he said, "If you feel unwell, you must tell me immediately."
"You're just too nervous. I'm really fine." Charlotte said calmly.
Luun nodded, "Then take care of yourself. I'll go to the company first."
"Be careful on the way."
After Luun left, Charlotte slept in bed for a while.
When she woke up, it was time for lunch.
Linda looked at the breakfast Charlotte brought down from upstairs and couldn't help but ask, "Is it because you didn't like the breakfast this morning that you ate so little?"
Charlotte shook her head, "No, I fell asleep after eating half of it. You're worrying too much about me. I'm already an adult, you don't need to take care of me like a child."
Linda looked at her seriously and said, "But in my eyes, you're still my child. If I know you're not eating well, I'll worry."
Charlotte took a deep breath. She had rarely heard such heartwarming words from anyone since she was little.
Feeling a bit choked up, she almost cried.
She also realized that since moving back, Linda had been trying her best to take care of her.
Probably because of her childhood background, Linda wanted her to feel more
maternal love!
Hearing this, Charlotte also realized that she wasn't just a mother, she was also their child.
Charlotte nodded heavily, "Thank you, Mom."
Seeing her being so careful, Linda couldn't help but sigh, "You're such a silly child. Why are you thanking me? We are family after all."
Linda could also see that Charlotte occasionally felt a bit insecure.
It was because she had no mother by her side since she was young, so she lacked confidence like this.
