Chapter 153 Unwilling to Be Confined at Home
Maritina glanced at him. Freya was also his daughter, how could he say such a thing?
Bill's expression was serious. "Otherwise, it won't be so simple next time!"
Maritina temporarily suppressed the anger in her heart and nodded obediently. "I understand, I'll tell her."
When they returned home, they found the two of them sitting on the couch, indicating that she and Carlos had already finished dinner.
"Why are you back? Weren't you supposed to stay there tonight?"
As soon as Charlotte mentioned it, she became angry. "Exactly! Isn't there a servant in the house who has always had a grudge against me? While cleaning my room, she actually put some needles on the bed. If it weren't for Luna's intuition, calling Delis over, we would never have found these things."
Sophia exclaimed, "How could this happen? This woman is too audacious."
Charlotte said, "We were afraid there might be other dangers in the room, so we didn't stay there. That woman also asked me to drive her away, so she'll never bother me again."
Sophia still felt a bit scared. "I never thought your stepmother could find such a person as a servant. Can she trust someone like that by her side?"
Charlotte said coldly, "Who knows? Anyway, that servant is loyal to her. Every time I go back, she looks at me as if I were her enemy."
"Then don't go back. Isn't it more comfortable to stay in your own house?"
Fortunately, she had been driven away now, which also vented the anger she had pent up for the past few days.
But looking at Bill's attitude towards her now, Charlotte felt like she was back to her childhood.
It was because he believed that his father loved her that he left on the day of Frank's divorce.
Trusting his father so much, but he didn't believe her that day.
Charlotte had lost her mother since she was a child, so her mother still hoped that her father could love her.
There was no child who didn't long for their parents' love.
Thinking of this, she turned to look at her children, vowing not to disappoint them and to be a qualified mother.
Charlotte called her children over. "Did you have fun at Grandpa's house today?"
The two children nodded innocently. "Of course, it was fun! Can we go again in the future?"
Charlotte hugged them softly. "Of course, whenever Mommy has time, I'll take you again."
Charlotte forgave her father for kidnapping the children, believing that he would never do it again in the future!
After all, no matter what, they were children with blood ties to him. How could he bear to hurt them?
Sophia yawned. "I feel a bit tired since I got pregnant."
"Is it because you feel a bit tired after getting pregnant?"
Sophia nodded. "Yes, I always feel that this experience is incomparable to before. How long will this situation continue?"
Charlotte thought for a moment. "It varies from person to person. Some people feel better in the middle and later stages, while others are in this state throughout the pregnancy."
Sophia said helplessly, "Forget it, since I've chosen to keep this child, I'll just endure it for now."
Seeing Sophia so tired, Charlotte furrowed her brow slightly. "Then you should pay attention to rest. Try to let Carlos handle the work as much as possible. If your body really can't take it, postponing the wedding further won't be a problem."
Sophia's face looked weary. Thinking about the complicated procedures at the wedding made her feel like she couldn't hold on with such a tired body.
She hesitated for a moment and said, "I'll consider it, but I think it should be postponed until after the baby is born. If you're not in a hurry, we can have a collective wedding."
Charlotte nodded slowly. "I think your suggestion is good."
Sophia said, "It seems like I have to lie in bed for a while. I'm too tired. I slept all morning today and still feel like it's not enough."
"Are you taking those medicines every day?"
She nodded. "I take them every day. It's only with those medicines that I can feel a little better."
"In that case, I won't go to work tomorrow. I'll stay at home and take care of you to see how you're doing."
"I'm not that weak," Sophia leaned against Charlotte, "You don't have to worry. Work is still more important."
Charlotte looked at her tired appearance and said gently, "That won't do. You're so tired. Let's go rest now. You seem like you're about to fall asleep any second."
Sophia immediately shook her head, her voice firm. "I don't want to lie down. When did I lie down for so long before? Even when I was sick, I wasn't this delicate. I don't like this feeling."
Charlotte looked at her acting cute and smiled, saying, "But your current situation is different."
Charlotte pulled her up from the couch. "Come on, let's go rest now."
Sophia yawned. "Okay, okay, stop rushing me. I'll go to sleep now."
Charlotte watched her back and sighed with some distress.
Of course, she knew what it was like to be pregnant, and she knew this feeling was very uncomfortable.
So she couldn't let Sophia do as she pleased. When it was time to rest, she had to rest.
Early in the morning, Charlotte went to the market with Delis and bought a bunch of nourishing ingredients.
Delis immediately started making chicken soup as soon as she came back. "Madam, Miss Sophia hasn't woken up yet?"
Charlotte said slowly, "Probably not. When we went out just now, I checked. Let her sleep. There's nothing urgent today anyway."
After more than an hour, Sophia rubbed her eyes and walked downstairs from upstairs. "You didn't go to work today?"
Charlotte asked softly, "How do you feel now?"
"Nothing special, just a little better than last night. Milian said there was a cooperation meeting today. Are you sure it's okay that you didn't go to work?"
Charlotte looked at her with pity. "Even at this point, you're still worried about my work. We're all familiar with each other. It's fine. If Milian is in a hurry, she can come to our house for the meeting today."
Sophia poured herself a glass of water. "I always feel that Kyle has been gentler to me since I got pregnant."
"He must be feeling sorry for you since you look so tired. Do you have any discomfort lately?"
