Chapter 135 What's Different

Who knew that evening they would all attend a banquet together and encounter that woman again. Sanira, as usual, approached them with familiar enthusiasm to greet them, but Lun and Kalos' attitudes were indifferent, not as warm as hers. She was somewhat displeased with their attitude and spoke out on the spot. "Why are you two different from before?" she asked. Kalos replied lightly, "What's different?" "In the past, you would both smile when you saw me, but now you don't even react when you see me. You guys are really strange," she remarked. Kalos smiled and glanced at Sophia beside him. "It's probably because we both have partners now!" Lun nodded calmly. "Indeed." Sanira regretted greeting them like this; the conversation couldn't go without mentioning their partners. Continuing would probably lead to pressure on her to start a romantic relationship again. "I thought you would bring a friend or colleague to accompany you, but it's just you," Charlotte pretended to glance at her and asked. Sanira's lips curved into a faint smile. "Yeah, originally my dad and them were supposed to come, but they were too busy today, so I came on their behalf. Who knew I'd run into you guys, otherwise, I really wouldn't know what to do today." Charlotte smiled. "Indeed, it's a bit of a coincidence." Sanira didn't really want to come, but when she heard her dad saying that Lun and the others would also attend, she took the opportunity. Otherwise, she wouldn't have gone out so late; she could have slept more at home. She wouldn't give up any chance to be with Lun, even if there were others around him! After these few interactions, Sanira felt that their relationship was indeed not as good as before, even a bit distant. But she still believed that as long as she continued to spend more time with them, develop common topics, they would naturally return to the way they were before. Sanira purposely wore a backless dress tonight, wanting to show off her impressive figure in front of Lun. With this outfit and Sanira's confident smile, she quickly attracted the attention of some men. Sanira was satisfied with their reaction; she didn't believe she wouldn't captivate herself tonight. The group didn't notice her thoughts; they attended the banquet mainly for work, so most of their time was spent talking to others. Charlotte was talking to someone when she saw Freya walking towards her from a distance. Sophia also saw her and asked in confusion, "Wasn't he in the entertainment circle last time? Why did he come out so soon?" "Maybe he found a better backer to help him deal with those messy things!" Charlotte speculated. Freya came over and greeted her, "What a coincidence, sister, we met here. Why didn't you tell me when you came? We could have kept each other company." Charlotte looked at her, and her gaze lingered on Lun. She knew Freya hadn't let go of those thoughts yet. She pretended not to hear her and ignored her. Who would feel affectionate towards someone who coveted their husband? Seeing Charlotte silent, Freya nervously asked, "What's wrong, sister?" Charlotte frowned. "Why are you here too?" "I've recently resumed work, so I have to attend these business events," Freya patiently explained to Charlotte. Charlotte could see that while Freya was more restrained now, her nature hadn't changed. Charlotte said coldly, "Then focus on your work. I hope you won't make those mistakes again!" Freya nervously clasped her clothes, afraid that Charlotte would mention the ugly incidents that happened at their home a few days ago in front of everyone. But after pausing for a moment, she found that Charlotte didn't intend to do so, and her heart relaxed slightly. "I know, the job opportunities now are very important to me. I will definitely cherish them," Freya said. "I hope you remember what you said today," Charlotte said coldly. Sophia sighed and said, "You're too soft-hearted. If it were me, I would have cut ties with them long ago and never contacted them again." Charlotte smiled bitterly at her. "Maybe I still have some gratitude towards my father in my heart. At least he was good to me when I was young. Fortunately, nothing happened to the children, so I'm willing to give them another chance." Freya looked at them eagerly. "Can I stay with you tonight?" Sophia frowned at her, her tone mocking. "That's not necessary. We don't have much affection for you to show up in a hurry, making it seem like we've treated you unfairly. Everyone knows what happened, and there's no need to disgust each other anymore, right?" Charlotte watched Freya almost cry, but still said expressionlessly, "You also have work today, right? Then go about your business, there's no need to follow us anymore." Although Freya spoke softly, it still sounded like she didn't want to leave. "Okay, I really want to make amends with you today..." Sophia snorted. "You've probably forgotten. Didn't we watch the show together a few days ago? You seemed to say the same thing that day, but what was the result? Do you think we'll believe someone multiple times? Besides, you've done this kind of thing more than once or twice. You should leave now!" Freya paused visibly, then said, "I know you have some opinions about me because of what happened before. Since you're not willing to believe me, I'll leave. But I will prove to you that I really want to reconcile with you, and I know I was wrong about what happened before." "Saying the same thing twice, you really aren't tired," Sophia remarked. Freya didn't say anything more; after bidding farewell to them, she left. Sanira watched Freya's figure, sneered. It seemed that this woman's purpose was the same as hers. From the time Freya arrived until now, although her gaze didn't linger on Lun for long, Sanira could still see that Freya had thoughts about Lun. She couldn't help but say, "Who's this?" Charlotte smiled bitterly. "She's my sister." Sanira nodded slightly and whispered softly, "It seems like something happened between you guys; your relationship doesn't seem too good."
