Evelyn Knight slowly opened her eyes and immediately felt the tight restraints on her hands and feet. Jasmine Pierce was right beside her, already awake, though Evelyn didn’t know when she’d come to. "You okay?" Evelyn looked over, worry etched all over her face. Jasmine’s complexion was still pale as she gave a small shake of her head. "I'm fine." But Evelyn wasn’t convinced. Her eyes lingered on Jasmine’s stomach for a second too long. After hesitating for a moment, she finally asked in a low voice, "Are you... pregnant?" Given everything that had just happened, it was hard not to jump to that conclusion. Jasmine looked down at her belly and let out a bitter smile. "I think so." Besides the bleeding back when they were in the car, all she felt now was some cramping. Not much else. Hearing her uncertain tone, Evelyn felt a wave of guilt hit her. "This is all my fault.
