Fiona POV Knocking on Nolan’s office door, I wait for him to call me in before pushing the door open and entering. He sits at his desk, stiff and concentrated on the papers in front of him until I stop in front of his desk. “I need you to prepare a birthday gift for Chloe,” he says curtly. His daughter. I’d been stressed all morning, waiting for a new assignment from him, but this is not what I expected. “I thought you didn’t want me to cross any personal lines. Does this not count, sir?” Nolan finally looks up from his work, “You are my personal secretary, which means you take care of my food, clothing, and any other request I give you.
