Chapter 111: Locked Up
"She's the one who started it. They're in the wrong. What do we have to worry about?"
Naomi leaned back against the seat, completely unfazed.
"I hope you're right. I hope I'm just overthinking." I rubbed at my temple, trying to calm the unease twisting in my stomach. This was a police station, a place where justice was supposed to matter. Surely they'd handle it fairly.
The patrol car pulled up in front of the station, and soon the four of us were led inside. Two officers escorted Naomi and me to an interrogation room while Justin and that woman disappeared down another hall.
The room was cold and sterile, the kind of place that made your skin crawl. Naomi and I sat on hard chairs while two young officers leaned against a desk, arms crossed. They didn't say a word. Just stared at us like we were already guilty.
"Officer, that woman started the fight. We were defending ourselves," Naomi finally spoke when the silence stretched too long.
"Who started it isn't for you to decide. Sit tight
