MADELINE'S POV  I was jarred back to reality when Madam Apricot called out my name. I had spent the night in the hospital without a wink of sleep, and dawn was almost here.  I was traumatized.  The look on Madam Apricot's face wasn't helping either—it was etched with curiosity and suspicion.  "Explain the relationship between you and the girl," she said.
