Avery didn't expect herself to react so strongly inside the elevator. She lifted both hands to wipe her tears, but that only made her cry harder. She was in agony. She'd spent a whole week convincing herself and thought she was ready to let go when she finally saw Mason, yet she was still in unbearable pain, unable to control her feelings.
