♡ Lauren’s POV ♡ Twenty minutes later, I'm knocking on Magee's door. I tapped my foot impatiently. I jumped up when the door opened unexpectedly fast. His blue eyes fell guiltily into mine. Why did he feel guilty? His nose looks broken and there is a cut on his lip. He still looks handsome. I looked away at the door like it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Okay, this is embarrassing! "Well, aren't you going to invite me in? I asked, biting my lower lip. He cleared his throat. "Yes, come in! ” He went to scratch the back of his head. I rolled my eyes at him and stormed in. "We need to work on this project in my room, so let's go upstairs.” He was already upstairs as he spoke. "You mean I'm the one who's going to do the project! ” I retorted sarcastically and closed the door. He shrugged and said, "Same thing.” I raised my eyebrows. This guy has a lot of brass.” No, it isn't.” I told him and followed him upstairs. "Will you stop complaining? "'he said angrily. "Well, I'll shut up.” I could tell from the tension in his body that he was not in a good mood. When we finally entered the room, I was the first one to sit on the bed ready to take things out. He cleared his throat to stop me. Looking up, Magee smiled. "I didn't fart! I blurted it out without thinking. He raised his eyebrows and said, "Wow, it's nice to know I don't have your ass burping in my bed to bless me.” I let out an embarrassed laugh and tried to keep myself busy with the project. I heard him giggle and look up to see what amused him. "Why are you telling me this? "'he asked, smiling. "Oh, I thought Vicky told everyone I farted in class.” I shrugged, trying to look nonchalant. His blue eyes were wide. "What! You farted in class? "He gasped in surprise. 'No, I didn't! I shouted. He frowned in bewilderment. "Then why did she tell everyone you farted? " "She was trying to get back at me for telling everyone she was wearing my jacket.” I told him I was angry at the thought of what had happened. "Oh, that makes sense, but are you sure you didn't fart? ""He joked. I squinted at him and yelled, "Shut up, Magee! ” He threw up his hands in mock surrender, smiled and sat down next to me. I felt a little uncomfortable with him being so close to me, so I walked away quickly. Magee should have noticed this action, for his trouble showed on his face. "What are you afraid of me now? "'he asked angrily. 'Why am I afraid of you? I'm really confused. "I saw the way you looked at me when Cary and I fought.” He mumbled something I could barely hear, looking down guiltily at the ground. "Oh, that's his name! I said enthusiastically, finally knowing his name, but maybe I shouldn't have been so enthusiastic, because the next thing I knew Magee's eyes were stiff and his fist clenched. "What interest have you in him already? "He exhaled, but nothing but disgust. "You're incredible.” I whispered, rolling my eyes. 'Don't change the subject! He yelled. "Oh my God, Magee, calm down, I don't like him, okay.” I said to him, try to keep my voice soft and calm him down. His eyes softened before he could take them away from mine. What's wrong with him? From the moment he fought Cary, he had nothing but anger. Should I ask him about the fight? Fuck it! I'll ask him. I took a deep breath, cleared my throat, and asked the scariest question I'd ever wanted to ask him. "Why did you and Cary fight? " There was surprise on his face, and then he covered it up with an air of indifference. "It's none of your business," he answered rudely. "Magee, for this friendship to work, you need to open up to me, or I will reconsider being your friend.” I told him I was getting more and more annoyed by his attitude. "All right! He calls you an ugly bitch and he covers his eyes to have sex with you.” He grunted angrily, clenching his chin. "Oh.” That's what I said. I didn't think they'd fight over me. "Is that why you fought with him? Magee, you don't have to do that. I've heard worse.” I told him I had butterflies in my stomach when I thought Magee was fighting with a man because of me. "I know that's why I'm guilty," he said guiltily. "I put all these images and bad words into their heads and they keep saying them to you without thinking twice.” "It's all right, Magee, it's all over now, and I kind of forgive you now because you defended my honor.” I said, trying to convince him. Maybe he's not so bad after all. "I can't let him say those dirty words about you, and I'm the only one who'll sleep with you, but my eyes won't be blocked.” "He said bluntly. His words left me tongue-tied. "Magee! ” Can he be more outspoken? "It's true.” He shrugged. "No, it's not. I'll never sleep with you.” I'm not being credible. "Go on telling yourself that.” He snorted haughtily. "Can you be more arrogant? "I asked. "You can never resist sex, baby, just like you can't resist at the waterfall.” His eyes were now full of mischief. "You'll never let me down, will you? "I asked, flustered on the subject. How did we get on the subject in the first place? "No, I'll keep reminding you.” "He told me before playfully sticking out his tongue. "Did I mention you have the sexiest ass I've ever seen? ""He asked, smiling seductively. "Magee, shut up and let me do this project, okay? "I said, trying to change the subject. "Oh my God, okay, I was just kidding.” He said, and leaned over to help me with the project. I looked at him in shock. I raised my eyebrows. "So you're going to help me now? " "Well, I can't let you do this by yourself, or you'll set us up for failure.” He shrugged. The guy's guts are another matter. "I'm smarter than you, man.” I snorted. "You are, baby, you are.” He looked at me in a low voice, with admiration in his eyes. "Will you stop calling me baby? "I muttered, looking away from the intense stare that made me nervous. "Well, how about honey, sweet plums, sweet cheeks. . .” "He enumerated. "Okay, baby! ” I yelled in frustration and gave him a dirty look, but the jerk just laughed it off and blew me a kiss.
