Katelyn’s POV The cool night air wrapped around me as Cayden and I stepped out of the club. The noise of the crowd faded behind us, replaced by the soft hum of city life. The streetlights cast a golden hue on the sidewalk, their glow reflecting off Cayden’s thoughtful expression. He shoved his hands into his pockets, glancing sideways at me. “So…” he began, his voice light but curious, “Ethan’s your ex-husband?” I nodded, my chest tightening slightly at the mention of Ethan. The tension from earlier still clung to me, like a shadow I couldn’t shake. Cayden shook his head, disbelief etched across his face. “I don’t get it. If he’s your ex, why is he with… her?” His voice dipped with clear disdain when he said her, referring to Scarlett. “How can he have a foot in both camps?” I let out a soft, bitter laugh. “It’s complicated.” And it was complicated. Ten years of tangled emotions, betrayals, and misunderstandings—how could I possibly explain all of that in one conversation? Cay
