Chapter 217
Author's POV
Suzanna waited until Isabelle's car disappeared down the winding dirt road before entering the room where Aria was being held.
Her lips curved into a smile that didn't reach her cold eyes as she looked at the young girl huddled in the corner. Even in the dim light, the child's features were unmistakable—she had her mother's strong jawline and her father's defiant eyes. The perfect blend of Summer and Alexander, the living proof of their bond.
"Hello, little wolf," Suzanna purred, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "Your mother's been looking for you, I hear."
Aria lifted her chin, displaying a courage beyond her years. "My daddy will find me. And my mommy too."
Suzanna laughed, the sound brittle and harsh in the confined space. "Oh, I'm counting on your mother feeling every moment of this," she said, slowly pulling a silver-lined dagger from her jacket. "Do you know what your precious mother did to me? To my son?"
The memories burned like acid through Suzanna's mind.
