Chapter 23
Beth’s POV
“Leave my son!”
Will that be the first word Aaron’s mother said to me during our first meeting?
Aaron’s currently downstairs, finding his mom for me.
This left me here, slowly getting warmer and warmer from the number of blankets crushing my body into the mattress, running my hands through my hair, and praying that I don’t look terrible.
I wished I could be wearing something pretty, like one of the dresses I had hanging in our vast, walk-in closet, but I was too weak to make it to the cabinet, much less get changed. I was in the same sweats and hoodie as before, the sleeves rolled to my elbows as I tried not to look so shabby.
Contenting myself with playing with my hair, I ran my fingers through it again, making the curls bounce against my shoulders. At least my chocolate waves were looking okay, pulling a slight smile on my face. My stomach is a ball of nerves, and I almost feel nauseous. Oh, God.
