In the last month, I took Grandma all over the world and showed her every view she never got to see. I wanted to stay with her, take care of her as she got older, and see her through to the end, but I couldn't.
I couldn't shake the feeling that fate was being cruel to me. The only real luck I ever had was meeting Grandma.
"Grandma, you're going to live a long life."
The day I died, snow was falling outside. My spirit drifted in the air, watching Grandma cry until her eyes turned red.
Evan brought a beautiful bouquet of white lilies and stood at my grave for a long time. The corners of his eyes were damp as he traced the black-and-white photo.
"Naomi, if everything could start over, would you be with me? I'd never betray you as Keegan did. Forget it. If we could start over, all I want is for you to live a long life."
He stopped Keegan outside when he showed up to pay his respects. His voice was sharp with anger.
