Aria’s POV
I felt my chest ache. For the first time, I realized how much Knox had gone through when I wasn’t there… and how much the pack had held him together.
A soft smile spread across my lips. “And that’s exactly why I have to meet them now. They did so much. It’s the least I could do.”
Knox knew it was the right thing to do, so he sighed. “Yes, you’re right.”
He held my hands in his. “If you feel even the slightest bit of tiredness,” he said firmly, “make sure you tell me. Do you understand? I don’t care if it’s just a headache or your knees feeling weak. The moment you feel it, I will take you out of there immediately.”
I nodded, squeezing his hand back. “Deal.”
He didn’t look convinced. His eyes scanned me again, he glanced at my stomach with a worried frown on his face. But he didn’t argue anymore. Instead, his frown deepened as the car came to a stop.
My heartbeat pounded in my chest as the doors opened.
