"I really just want to fix things between us, Aurora. If you accept my apology, I swear I'll never bother you again," Christopher said.
Upon observing his sincere gaze, I slowly reached for the bottle. But just as my fingertips brushed the bottle, I deliberately let it slip, not catching it.
The bottle smashed on the ground, the powder dispersing like dust, and with it, the last glimmer of hope seemed to die in Christopher's eyes.
"No!" Christopher choked out, his voice raw with disbelief and pain. He kneeled down to gather the scattered fragments, as if he could somehow recover what was lost. His actions seemed like nothing more than a pointless struggle to me.
I stood coldly to the side, my gaze devoid of emotion as I asked, "Do you truly think that powder ground from a wolf's fang can atone for the pain you inflicted upon me? Are you truly ignorant of the fact that on that full moon night, I was surrounded by vampires because I went to save you, Christopher?
