Dominic POV Dominic listens in tight-lipped silence as Romero relays Gianna’s latest report. Camilla is still scheming, The information shouldn’t surprise him but something in Romero’s tone confirms it’s worse than before. More desperate. More reckless. He studies Romero’s face the way he would any soldier bringing him bad news. “So she won’t stop,” he says. It isn’t a question. Romero shakes his head. “Gianna swears Camilla’s talking to anyone who’ll listen and trying to stir up trouble. Maybe even trying to find someone to do her dirty work.” A muscle jumps in Dominic’s jaw. The solution is obvious, clean and final. He has never been a man who avoids the inevitable. Yet he hesitates when he imagines having Camilla killed. His Irritation flares instantly, hot and unwelcome. He hasn’t gotten where he is by hesitating. Camilla, however, is Aurora’s sister and his sister-in-law. Would killing her be justice? Or simply convenience?
