Chapter 23

I don't let them finish I shove past them, snapping out a quick 'you're wasting my time' and head towards my room with great determination. I speed into my room packing a warm change of clothes and an extra pair of shoes. Quickly I use the restroom and brush my teeth, cringing at the thought of how many days I'll have to go without cleaning them. Then I change my clothes into a deep brown, string up boots, black jeans, a dark blue sweater, and a brown winter jacket with the tag still on. No surprise there, I've never gone farther than the front door without being paraded back inside. I look out the window, tying my thick hair up, I reach out and push the cool window up. A rush of cold breeze hits me, little puffs of warm air comes from my open mouth. I swing one leg out the window, then the next, swiftly I jump out of the two story window rolling into my run.
