Kimberly was puzzled when the car arrived at the Slater residence. She wondered why there wasn't anyone coming to open the car door for her that day. Helplessly, she freed the hand that was clutching her purse and pushed the car door open herself. Suddenly, a forceful grip yanked her out of the car. Then, a thick black cloth was immediately tied around her eyes to obscure her vision. A wave of terror surged in her chest. Kimberly instinctively screamed at the top of her lungs. "Who are you? Let me go! I'm Vincent Slater's wife! How dare you lay a hand on me!" Her voice was shrill and piercing. One of the men restraining her kicked her in the leg and growled viciously, "Shut up. If you want to live, stay quiet!" Only then did Kimberly stop screaming, too afraid to utter another sound. She had no idea how much time had passed.
