Liam nodded without hesitation and fell into step beside Wendy.
The winery was stunning at night.
It was getting late, and aside from a few distant buildings still lit up with lingering parties, the path they took was calm and quiet.
The summer night breeze swept by, carrying away some of the intoxication from the two of them.
"It's been a long time since I drank like this," Wendy said, a little breathless. "Probably not since college."
Tired, she sat down on the grassy patch by the lake and slipped off her heels, letting her bare feet sink into the cool grass.

She frowned and shook her head. "Not really. That was the roughest time of my life. If I had the chance, I wouldn't go through it again."
