Chapter 364
Jenna finally began to calm down in Elias' arms. She held her face and sobbed, her breathing turning ragged between broken cries.
By now, the two of them had collapsed to the floor, tangled together in a mess of emotions.
Elias gently took her wrist and guided her hand to slap his face. He said, "It's my fault. If you're upset, feel free to hit me back. Okay?"
She slowly raised her tear-streaked face, and her red, swollen eyes locked onto his. "No. I don't want you to be in pain either."
She knew exactly how to take advantage of his guilt. There was no way she would waste an opportunity like this. Still crying, she looked at him with a helpless expression.
Elias reached up and wiped away her tears with careful fingers. "Don't cry anymore. Seeing you like this breaks my heart."
Jenna took a deep breath, then muttered regretfully, "Elias, what have I done? I didn't even realize how badly I treated Wendy. I'm awful... I deserve to be punished."
With that, she hit her leg.
