Chapter 206
"The two suspects were just brought back from the hospital. They haven't said a word yet. Do you want to go home now, or somewhere else? I'll have someone drive you. You're in no condition to be driving."
James didn't refuse. But instead of going home, he headed to the hospital.
Leon drove him personally and checked on Wendy's condition outside the ward.
"Whether or not they admit to being hired to kidnap and kill her, Mrs. Frank's condition alone is enough to land them a heavy sentence."
James nodded, his face dark. "No matter what, I want them to—"
Leon cut him off sharply. "Mr. Frank, that's not something you should be saying."
James fell silent, then glanced at Leon, his eyes carrying a trace of gratitude.
Leon had a good relationship with Henry and practically watched James grow up. But they couldn't show any signs of familiarity in front of the police.
"I'll head back to the station," Leon said. "I'll update you when we learn something."
